WATER WELL EQUIPMENT
Bridge Plugs Bridge Plugs are used to create a barrier in a well to stop the flow from an aquifer. When used for abandonment of old wells this ensures that the well can be properly cemented. Typically, an IPI inflatable bridge plug is run and inflated using a drill pipe which is then disconnected via left hand thread back-off or direct shear sub. For a permanent plug, cement grout may be placed on top of the inflated plug. Other plugs can incorporate deflation and retrieval systems. IPI also produce bridge plug designs suitable for running on hose, poly pipe and even wireline. Each plugging program is carefully considered in light of its special circumstances to design the most appropriate solution. |
