Inflatable Slipover Packers
IPI’s Inflatable Slip-over Packers are state-of-the-art for sealing gravel packed screens into casing.
A Slip-over packer comprises a short, centralized, length of stainless steel pipe with lead-in and lead-out cones, an internal landing ring, a standard external inflatable packer to seal against the casing and an internal M-Packer to seal on the outside of the screen riser pipe.
It is installed and inflated using an IPI installation tool run on drill pipe. IPI inflatable slipover packers have the advantage that they are able to be deflated and returned to the surface of the well at any time. This may be necessary for example to top up the gravel pack level after test pumping or even years of pumping. Once at the surface, the valve is reset and the slipover packer is ready for redeployment in the well for continued service.
